Portuguese is the fifth most spoken language in the world!

Portuguese is spoken on five continents.

Portuguese is the official language of Portugal, including the Azores and Madeira, Brazil, Angola,
Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Mozambique, East Timor & Macao.

Portugal is one of the oldest nations in Europe (1139)!!!

A person who speaks Portuguese, regardless of where he or she is from, is called Lusophone,
pronounced "loozoh-phone," i.e., speaker of Portuguese.

There are 1.3 million Portuguese, and their descendants (known as Luso-Americans) living in the US.

Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, has the longest bridge in Europe!

Portugal is about the size of Indiana.

Brazil is larger than the contiguous 48 US States!

Angola is larger than Texas & California combined!
